Exact messages this covers

  • Login failed, terminal (SN:nnnnnnnnnn) not registered
  • Terminal Already Exists
  • Terminal SN Not Exist in Global Marketplace
  • Model Mismatched in PAXSTORE

Check first

  • Is the merchant created and activated? '+ Terminal' and activation both require an active merchant.
  • Was the terminal bought for the US marketplace through a PAX North America channel? Serial numbers not in PAX NA's database are rejected.
  • Is the terminal already registered to another reseller (for example a previous owner)?

For Allstar staff and reseller partners who manage their own PAXSTORE estate. PAXSTORE is organised as Marketplace > Reseller > Sub-reseller > Merchant > Terminal, and a terminal cannot exist without an active merchant above it.

Before you start

  • Only Administrator-level PAXSTORE users can add terminals.
  • The merchant must already exist and be active.
  • Have the serial number from the sticker on the back of each unit. The PAX TID (8 to 16 characters) is optional and is not the processor's terminal ID.

Steps

  1. Terminal Management > expand to the merchant > Terminal List. Expected: the merchant's terminal list.
    • TERMINAL. Enter Terminal Name, Manufacturer, Model, Merchant, SN, optional Location and TID; use Quantity and End SN for a sequential batch. Expected: required fields marked; errors turn red on OK.
  2. Choose Activate Terminal Immediately and press OK. Expected: terminal listed as Active.
  3. If saved as Activate Later: tick the terminal, then Activate. Expected: Active.
  4. On the device, get online and open the PAXSTORE Client. Expected: the client registers and lists apps. An inactive profile gives 'Login failed, terminal (SN:...) not registered'.
  5. In PAXSTORE open the terminal and check Basic Information > Technical Details. Expected: populated after the first sync.
  6. Push the application if needed (separate article). Expected: push shows Pushing, then success.

If that did not work

  • 'Terminal Already Exists': the serial belongs to another reseller's account. They must remove it, or PAX issues a release form.
  • 'Terminal SN Not Exist in Global Marketplace' or model mismatch: PAX North America must fix its serial database; send the serial to support@pax.us (bulk cases to paxstore.support@pax.us) or let Allstar raise it.
  • Device cannot log in with an active profile: Connect Error usually means port 9080 is blocked. Have Allstar verify the client's server settings.

Stop and contact support if

  • 'Terminal Already Exists' / 'Terminal Serial not available': the serial is attached to another PAXSTORE account. The previous reseller must inactivate and delete it, or PAX issues a terminal release form. Do not try workarounds; contact Allstar with the serial.
  • 'Terminal SN Not Exist in Global Marketplace' or 'Model Mismatched in PAXSTORE': PAX North America's serial database must be corrected. Send the serial to support@pax.us (PAX asks for more than 5 devices to go to paxstore.support@pax.us), or contact Allstar and we will raise it.
  • The device still cannot log in after the profile is active: check Connect Error (port 9080 blocked) and the terminal's Server URL/port with Allstar support. Do not change key-related or security settings.

Contact Allstar support (sales@allstarterminals.com, 888-403-7066) with the serial number, model, merchant name, your PAXSTORE reseller name and the exact message.

Notes

  • PAX's 'Android Terminal Setup' knowledge-base entry links the same 2020 'Traditional' Terminal Setup QRG; there is no separate Android setup guide. The QRG's parameter-file tabs are for PAX's traditional BroadPOS-style apps, but the Create Terminal steps apply to all models.
  • The Reseller User Guide (v4.0, 2022, PAXSTORE 8.4) says model is no longer mandatory at creation and that the client sets it at activation; the 2020 QRG lists Model as a field. PAXSTORE is now at release 10.0 (12-30-2025); screens may differ.
  • The QRG contains a garbled line about which serial is 'first' versus 'last' when adding several terminals; SN is the first and End SN the last. Serials must be sequential.
  • Button labels differ between documents (+ TERMINAL versus + CREATE TERMINAL). Icons such as the green 'Add Push App' arrow are only shown in screenshots.
  • The PAXSTORE QRGs were read from local copies downloaded from pax.us; the URLs above are the pax.us download links listed on the PAXSTORE (QRGs) and Standard Reseller User Guide pages.
