  • Invalid Parameter

Check first

  • Which model is it: VP100, VL100, VL100 Pro or VL110?
  • Will it connect over Wi-Fi, Ethernet or cellular (VL110 only)?
  • Did your provider change settings in the Valor portal that the terminal has not picked up?

To set up a Valor VP100, VL100, VL100 Pro or VL110, plug in the supplied adapter, load a 2 1/4 in thermal roll, connect to Wi-Fi or Ethernet (or cellular on the VL110), then run Download Package from the Favorites menu so the terminal picks up your account settings.

Before you start

  • Paper: Valor's terminals take 2 1/4 in by 55 ft thermal rolls.
  • Keys: on the VL100, VL100 Pro and VL110 one key does both jobs: press it to feed paper, hold it to power down. The VP100 has separate feed and power keys.
  • Connections: VL100, VL100 Pro and VP100 support Ethernet and Wi-Fi; the VL110 adds cellular.
  • Terminals Allstar programs arrive ready for your processor; Download Package pulls any later changes.

Steps

  1. Connect the supplied power adapter to the terminal and an outlet. Expected: the terminal starts and shows the Valor home screen (the VL110 also shows a battery icon).
  2. Load a 2 1/4 in by 55 ft thermal roll and press the paper feed key. Expected: paper advances cleanly.
  3. Connect at the first-boot prompt, or later from Favorites > Comm Config. Wi-Fi passwords are case sensitive. Expected: the connection icon shows the active connection.
  4. Open Favorites and choose Download Package (6 Updates on some versions), then press OK. Expected: the terminal downloads its settings and returns to the home screen.
  5. To restart, use Favorites > Reboot. To switch off, hold the power key. Expected: the terminal power cycles or shuts down.

If that did not work

  • Receipt prints very light: Valor says to make sure the receipt tray is clean and closed properly. On the VL110, also check it is not in power save mode and has at least 45% battery.
  • VL110 battery runs down unevenly: Valor's advice is to let the battery run to 0% until the terminal switches itself off, then charge it overnight with the supplied cable and wall adapter.
  • Invalid Parameter during a download: Valor's fix is to close the terminal's batch from the online portal, then retry the download. Ask your provider if you do not have portal access.
  • Wi-Fi or Ethernet will not connect: see the Valor connection guide.

Stop and contact support if

  • The terminal asks for a password you do not have: stop and contact your provider or Allstar support. Do not guess.
  • Do not run a soft reset or terminal reset yourself. Valor's reset clears the terminal's database; contact support first.
  • Any tamper or security alert on screen: stop, do not reboot repeatedly, contact Allstar support.

Notes

  • Valor publishes no paper-loading procedure (how to open the cover and seat the roll) for these models. The guide gives the paper size and the feed key only.
  • Valor's FAQ gives one paper size (2 1/4 in by 55 ft) for its terminals. The spec sheets list printer paper as 57 x 50 mm (VP100) and 57 x 40 mm (VL110); 55 ft rolls may be too large for the VL110's 40 mm compartment. Unverified, inference; confirm before ordering paper for the VL110.
  • Valor does not document how to power the terminal on; connecting the adapter is the documented setup step.
  • The adapter ratings (9 V 4 A) come from the 2025 VP100 and VL100 Pro spec sheets and the VL110 brochure read on 2026-10-23; the plain VL100 rating was not found.
