The AXIUM SX series is Ingenico's Android generation of unattended terminals. The SX7000 is the full-acceptance model: it adds an EMV chip reader with shutter and an ISO 1/2/3 magstripe reader to everything in the contactless-only AXIUM SX5000. Frequently asked questions

What payment types does the AXIUM SX7000 accept?

Chip (EMV L1, ISO 7816, reader with shutter), contactless (EMV Contactless L1 3.x), magstripe (ISO tracks 1/2/3 on the MSR build) and QR code payments read by the downward camera. The Ingenico US page states chip and PIN and a magstripe reader for the SX7000.

What is the difference between the SX7000 and the SX5000?

Both share the processor, Android 14, 5 in display, camera, sensors, ports and IP65 / IK09 rating. The SX7000 adds a chip reader and a magstripe reader; the SX5000 is contactless and QR only. The SX7000 MSR build is wider (117 mm vs 110 mm) and heavier (581 g vs 532 g).

Does the SX7000 have a physical PIN keypad?

No. PIN is entered on the touchscreen. Ingenico states it is PIN on Glass certified, and its PCI approval lists touch-screen PIN entry.

What size cutout does the SX7000 need?

Current datasheets list a 107.5 x 84 mm cutout with EVA EPS v2 Standard Door Module compliance and mounting from outside the kiosk. The MSR build has 37.5 mm front protrusion and 19.4 mm kiosk depth. The Nov 2024 datasheets listed 104.5 x 81 mm and 26.15 mm depth, so confirm against the current drawing.

Can the SX7000 be used outdoors?

Current Ingenico datasheets and the US product page rate it IP65 and IK09, CE Outdoor certified, operating from -20 to +65 C (-4 to 149 F). Earlier 2024 datasheets showed IP54 or IP55.

What is the PCI approval status of the SX7000?

The PCI SSC approved devices list shows approval 4-20379 under PTS 6.x, approval expires 30 Apr 2032, covering chip, magstripe and contactless functions.
