Check first
- Which model is it: P8, P3 or QD2?
- Will it run on Wi-Fi or 4G?
- Does the screen show the SALE screen (ready) or the UPGRADE APP screen (not yet loaded)?
To set up a Dejavoo P8, P3 or QD2, charge it with the 5 V 2 A adapter that came in the box, load a 58 mm thermal roll, connect it to Wi-Fi or 4G, and check that the DvPayLite payment app opens the SALE screen. If you see an UPGRADE APP screen instead, the terminal still needs its TPN downloaded.
Before you start
- All three are battery-powered Android wireless terminals with a built-in 58 mm (2 1/4 in) thermal printer, dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 and 5 GHz) and 4G. None has an Ethernet port.
- P8: 6.5 in touchscreen, built-in scanner and camera, 7.6 V 2500 mAh battery, USB-C, optional charging cradle. Paper up to 40 mm roll diameter.
- P3: 5 in touchscreen with a physical keypad, removable 7.4 V battery, USB-C, one SIM slot. Paper up to 40 mm roll diameter.
- QD2: 5.5 in touchscreen, 7.2 V 2600 mAh battery, USB-C, SIM card slots.
- Terminals Allstar programs arrive with the TPN already downloaded, so steps 4 and 5 are usually not needed.
Steps
- Connect the 5 V 2 A adapter (USB-C on the P3 and P8) and plug it in to charge. Expected: the battery indicator shows charging.
- If the screen is dark, press and hold the side Power key. Expected: the terminal boots and opens the Dejavoo payment app.
- Check the Wi-Fi icon on the idle screen: blinking means not connected, steady means connected. Expected: a steady Wi-Fi icon.
- If you see UPGRADE APP: open DvPayLite, enter the TPN in the TPN # field, tap Download App, enter the one-time passcode if asked, wait for Installing, please wait, and tap Yes to any settings update. Expected: the SALE screen opens.
- After your provider changes settings in the portal: Favorites star > UPGRADE APP > check the TPN > Download Parameter. Expected: Parameter initialization completed successfully. Tap OK.
- To power off or restart, hold the side button until the menu appears, then tap Power off or Reboot. Expected: the terminal shuts down or restarts and reconnects.
If that did not work
- Wi-Fi icon keeps blinking: Dejavoo does not publish Wi-Fi setup steps for these models. Contact support with your network name and security type. If the terminal should be on 4G, tell support which carrier the SIM is on.
- Nothing prints: confirm the roll is 58 mm thermal paper and, on the P3 or P8, no more than 40 mm across. Dejavoo does not publish paper-loading steps for these models; contact support if the printer still does not feed.
- Battery drains fast or will not charge: use the 5 V 2 A adapter from the box. If a battery is swollen or hot, stop using the terminal.
- Settings screen asks for an administrator password: stop and contact support.
Contact Allstar support at support@allstarterminals.com or 888-403-7066 (Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM Central) with the model, serial number, payment application, processor and the exact message on screen.

Stop and contact support if
- The terminal asks for an administrator or manager password you do not have: stop and contact Allstar support or your provider. Do not guess.
- You do not have a TPN, or the download fails: contact Allstar support. Terminals Allstar programs arrive with the TPN already loaded.
- Battery swollen, hot, or the terminal will not hold a charge: stop using it and contact Allstar support.
- Any tamper or security alert on screen: stop, do not reboot repeatedly, contact Allstar support.
Contact Allstar support with the model, serial number, payment application, processor and the exact message on screen.
Notes
- Dejavoo publishes no written paper-loading, Wi-Fi setup or SIM insertion steps for the P8, P3 or QD2. Paper width and roll diameter come from the flyers; the QD2 flyer gives the width (58 mm) but no roll diameter.
- Dejavoo does not document how to power these models on. Holding the side Power key is general Android behaviour; the flyers confirm each model has a Power key on the side.
- The power off/reboot and Wi-Fi icon steps come from Dejavoo's P Terminal Line and QD Terminal Line quick reference guides, which cover each line as a whole rather than naming the P8, P3 or QD2.
- The TPN article is written for Dejavoo terminals running DvPayLite in general and names no model. The QD2 flyer confirms the QD2 runs DvPayLite; the P3 and P8 flyers do not name the payment app.
- The P8 flyer lists 4G and a SAM card slot but does not describe a SIM slot, so this guide does not say where a P8 SIM goes. Contact support for 4G setup on the P8.
