Exact messages this covers
Alert Irruption!
Check first
- Is the terminal on its base or off it?
- Does the screen respond to key presses?
- Does the battery symbol show when it is on the base or on its power supply?
To turn off an Ingenico Move/5000, take it off its base and press the dot key and the yellow key together for one second. To turn it on or restart it, press the green key. If it is frozen, the same dot + yellow combination followed by green restarts it.
The Move/5000 also switches itself off when the battery is empty and it is off the base. A restart is not a factory reset; never attempt a factory reset on an injected terminal, because it wipes the encryption keys.
Before you start
- The dot key is the grey key in the bottom row, to the right of 0. The functions key (top right, with a circle) is a different key.
- If the terminal is on its base, Worldline notes it may start again by itself after the key combination.
Steps
- If a sale is on screen and the keys respond, press the red key to cancel it. Expected: the terminal returns to idle.
- Take it off the base and press the dot key and the yellow key together for one second. Expected: the screen goes off and the terminal shuts down.
- Press the green key. Expected: the terminal starts and loads its payment application.
- If it will not switch on, put it on its powered base or plug the power supply into the jack on the left side. Expected: the battery symbol flashes or moves (charging), and green switches it on.
If that did not work
Ingenico's checks when the Move/5000 does not turn on: confirm the battery is connected and not fully discharged; a fully discharged battery can take a long time to recover, so leave it charging. A full charge takes about 4 hours on the power supply. If "Alert Irruption!" appears, stop and contact support. Otherwise contact Allstar support with the model, serial number, payment application, processor and the exact message on screen.

Stop and contact support if
- The screen repeatedly flashes "Alert Irruption!": tampering detected. Stop, do not restart it repeatedly, and contact support.
- It does not switch on after charging on the base or power supply: contact support.
- It freezes after every restart: contact support. Do not attempt a factory reset; on an injected terminal it wipes the encryption keys and the terminal must be re-injected.
Contact Allstar support with the model, serial number, payment application, processor and the exact message on screen.
Notes
- Ingenico's guide shows the off-key as an icon. Rendered at high resolution, it is the grey key marked with a dot, not the functions key. The Move/5000 battery and connectivity articles were corrected to match on 2026-10-26.
- Worldline's FAQ says that on the base the terminal may start again by itself after the yellow + dot combination; off the base, press green.
